Does relying on AI make students weaker at coding?

I’ve noticed that AI can write Python code very quickly, and this makes coding tasks much easier. But I’m worried that students might stop learning how to solve problems themselves. Some people ask AI to do my Machine learning assignments, but I wonder what happens when they have to explain the code without help. Would it be better to write the first version yourself and then use AI to find mistakes? How do you think students should use coding AI? I’d really like to hear your views, especially from people studying machine learning or cybersecurity. What approach has worked for you?
